Weihai GuangTai Airport Equipment Co., Ltd. was established in October 1991 by Mr. Li Guangtai, A Senior Engineer by profession, Mr. Li was awarded outstanding scientist status by the State Council.

After several years of rapid expansion, GuangTai has developed into an internationally recognized company, engaged in the development and manufacture of airport ground support and related equipment (GSE). In addition, we can provide comprehensive after sales support. GuangTai has two subsidiary companies: GuangTai -Titan Refuelling Equipment Co. (joint venture) and GuangTai Special Power Equipment Co.

With over 65,000 square meters of production facility and the construction of two brand new state-of-the-art plants well on track for opening in late 2007, it is clear we are investing heavily in the future. Information technology plays a key role within the business and the engineering department currently uses PDM, a technical information management system, and 3-dimension SOLIDWORKS, a sophisticated design software. In 1996, GuangTai's engineering department was nominated as a provincial Technology Development Center by the local Government of Shandong Province.

Continuous innovation and product development remain one of our most important strategies and every year, new additions to the product range are introduced. All products are tested and certified by the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC). The current range comprises 22 series of equipment with over 80 variants. From simple passenger steps to aircraft push back tractors or Ground Power Units, GuangTai can meet most airline, air force or ground handler needs.
In 2002, GuangTai ventured into the international market for the first time and GSE from Weihai can now be seen in many countries, including Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Vietnam, North Korea, South Korea, Laos, Philippines, Singapore, HongKong, Macao, Russia and Kuwait. Export growth is a primary management focus and plans are in place to expand into other overseas markets over the next few years.
GuangTai currently employs almost 600 staff, of which 130 are engineers with Senior Engineering Degrees or Engineering Doctorates.
In Jan, 2007, GuangTai successfully became the public company in the Shenzhen Securities Exchange.
